Loving How My Daughter Expresses Herself

September 25, 2018 by Laura

Hello, My People! It’s been way too long since my last post, but it is what it is. I am alive though! Starting things back up with a lovely piece of self-expression artwork from my oldest……

After being furious that I said she could not buy any ice cream at lunchtime in the cafeteria, she quickly turned to her “office” and swiftly took up her pencil and went to town! She did not hold her feelings back….oh no, she did not hold her feelings back.

Let’s dissect this down a little, shall we? That’s what you do with art, right? My commentary is in italics.

-To translate, it reads “Mommy Your the Meanest”. I have no idea what the “Jesinth!” means, but if you look very close, you’ll notice that the heart on the bottom of the exclamation mark has a crack in it….like a broken heart”. Hm…clever placement.

-The left girl is her. She has a distraught face, wearing a “your the meanest” dress, and she’s thinking about ice cream and that I’m the meanest. Well done. I clearly know how you’re feeling. I also knew when you told me that in person.

-I am on the right. I am wearing a “No No No” dress, and I’m thinking about no ice cream (thus the ice cream cone with a big slash in the middle).  I guess that probably sums up what has occurred. Maybe I should start selling a NO NO NO dress on my site? Anyone interested in buying one of those?

-Ending the drawing with a big fat broken heart. And, to top it all off, she taped it to her wall, so she can stare at it when she’s coloring.

I love parenting. The end. Does anyone else have any drawings like this? Or am I the only one who is graced with this self-expression artwork?!

Have a great week!

You are a great mom and she will thank you one day! In the meantime though her drawings are a wonderful way to show her love and frustration with you. 😊 😂 Oh man I know the days are fastly approaching when Addy starts calling me a mean mom. 😂
