Episode 26- Should I Buy Bunk Beds For My Kids?

April 23, 2021 by Laura

In this episode, I discuss my love of the Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablets I bought for my kids, the tale of a “leak proof” soft sided cooler, and my thought process when it comes to possibly buying bunk beds. Of course, there are lots of other little helpful nuggets spread throughout. As always, thank you for listening and stopping by!

Listener Spotlight
Thank you to Amanda for reaching out to me and sharing your favorite Costco find for me to try. I’m on the hunt for it. My local warehouse doesn’t sell it, but I’m looking! She suggested I try the Parm Crisps Snack Mix– ranch flavored…Keto friendly, they look yummy and I’m going to look at local grocery store or just buy a 3 pack on amazon until I can find them at Costco. If you have something you’d like to suggest, please email it to me at Laura@shortcutshopper.com

Pondering
–Bunk Beds:  I like the idea of a twin on top, full on bottom and a twin trundle bed underneath. All my current mattresses would be accounted for!🙂
-Summer stuff for kids…camps, enrichment classes through school. podcast?

Trying
–RTIC 30 soft sided cooler
–Echelon EX-4S connected bike with 1 year united membership – I did not pay this price. At my local warehouse it was $800, BUT that meant you have to assemble yourself. Ummm….I’ll have my husband gladly put it together to save that much money from the online price!🙂

Loving
–Fire HD 10 Tablet – bought one for each girl. I did NOT buy the kids version….basically because they’re older, and I wanted this not to look too “baby-ish” Since this tablet is not “kids” it did not come with Amazon Kids+, but I already had that. I bought these tablets when they were 33% off which brought my total to $94.99 at the time. I’m also very happy with the cases I bought.

–Frugal Friends Podcast Episode 156 (How to avoid impulse spending..some good tips and good reminders to keep ourselves in check…impulse buys aren’t even pondering purchases)
–I Hate Green Beans Podcast Episode #209 Disney During Covid with Lincee Ray’s friend, Stephanie.

News
-For Texas Listeners….Walmart to pilot in store La Madeline Express Bakery Cafes..with grab and go and dine in options
–Reese’s (the candy) is partnering with HipDot the makeup company for a collection of eye shadows and make up sponges. The Reese’s makeup collection is now for sale on ulta.com, hipdot.com, hersheyland.com and Hershey’s Chocolate World locations. …..yum…kinda.
–Nordstrom is now recycling bras in a program inspire by its new partnership with the Harper Wilde bra brand. They’ll be upcycled into yarn and fabrics, while others are downcycled into things like filling stock or padding.
